About a year after I returned from my 10-month assignment in Zimbabwe, the Fulbright Foundation asked me to attend a conference given for those about to depart on their assignments. They wanted me to be available to this new group, mentor round-tables, give a short talk, and be a member of a panel. To prepare for this conference I created a set of notes in the form of slides. These are freely accessible as a pdf file. They also asked me to write a short article about my experiences. Should you have have comments, I am eager to hear them.
