Today I depart for a year or two of teaching computer science at the Chinhoyi University of Technology in Zimbabwe Africa. Have spent a lot of time preparing lectures and potential research topics but this is very much a matter of jump first, look later.
Have been traveling to Zimbabwe for two or three weeks per year since 2011. A travel summary from that earlier work is posted at http://informationanthology.net/CareerMentor/Zimbabwe/IntoAfrica.html. Later thoughts can be found in http://ocdaonline.org/new/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/OCDA-Newsletter-Winter-2014.pdf (p5-6) and http://associationdatabase.com/aws/NCDA/pt/sd/news_article/92322/_self/layout_ccmsearch/false.
The trip will take about 48 hours from the time I leave my house. There are three airlines involved: United, Lufthansa, and South African. KLM recently stopped flying to Zimbabwe. That may be because it is unprofitable for them to continue.
Lots to do now. Will post again when I arrive. See you then.
